Race Course

Swim Course

The adult/Junior swim is a triangular 750m loop that starts and finishes at the main beach. Standard course athletes will complete 2 laps of the course, exiting the water between laps.

The youth swim courses are out and back from the main beach entering and exiting at the same points as the adult swim course.

Bike Course

The bike course is out and back along Fuller Lake Road – Cottonwood Rd – Crozier Rd – Chemainus Rd – Crofton Rd – Chaplin St – York Ave. The sprint course is one loop and the standard course is two loops. The turn around for the second loop of the standard course is on Crozier Road. Turns will be well marked and marshalled. The bike course is well marked and all major intersections and direction changes are controlled by flaggers.

Run Course

The adult run course follows trails in the North Cowichan municipal forest adjacent to Fuller Lake Park. The Standard Course is a modified 2 loop course and the Sprint Course is single loop.

Youth Bike Course

The youth bike course leaves by the same route as the adult course. Athletes then turn into the the driveway to the Fuller Lakes Arena where they will complete the required number of laps for their age group on a closed course. On the last lap they return via the adult bike course to transition.

Laps:

  • 6-7 – 1 lap
  • 8-9 – 3 laps
  • 10-11 – 5 laps
  • 12-13 – 7 laps
  • 14-15 – 9 laps

Youth Run Course

The youth run course follows a trail on a counter clockwise loop in Fuller Lake Park. The course crosses the adult bike and run courses adjacent the boat ramp. This crossing is controlled by marshals. Each participant will complete the required number of laps for their age group. On the final lap participants turn onto the adult run course to the finish line

Laps:

  • 6-7 – 1 lap
  • 8-9 – 2 laps
  • 10-11 – 3 laps
  • 12-13 – 3 laps
  • 14-15 – 4 laps

Kersten Orthodontics Greater Victoria Youth Triathlon Series

The Kersten Orthodontics Greater Victoria Youth Triathlon Series is a series of three KOS triathlons in June including the Victoria Youth Triathlon, the Triathlon of Compassion, and the Cowichan Challenge. Register for all three races to complete the series and receive a coveted Race Series Hoodie.
